LUCTONIANS' Dan 'Devon' Woodside is representing the West Indies this weekend in the Trinidad International Rugby Sevens Tournament.

The 24-year-old impressed for the Bahamas last month at the North America and West Indies Rugby Union Sevens competition.
Woodside is one of three players from the Bahamas selected in the West Indies squad.

The tournament will be used to finalise the West Indies squad for the San Diego leg of the IRB Sevens World Series being held in February 2008.

Woodside was last year picked to represent the West Indies at the IRB Sevens World Series - and he will be aiming to cement his place again.

The Luctonians player shone for the Bahamas on home soil in the two-day North America and West Indies Rugby Union Sevens competition.

Woodside helped his side finish runners-up in the Plate final.

The Bahamas were edged out by Bermuda, 19-14, in the final of the Plate.
The scores were tied 14-14 at full time and the game went into sudden-death overtime where Bermuda prevailed.

Bahamas had topped their Plate pool after beating St. Vincent 17-0 and Turks & Caicos 44-0.

Bahamas then beat Barbados 34-5 in the semi-finals of the plate to set up a final with Bermuda.
In the main event, defending champions, Guyana, retained their trophy.

Guyana won a closely fought final with Jamaica, 7-5, in Nassau, Bahamas.
Guyana and Jamaica had both finished top of their respective pools on each day.

Jamaica won Pool B which included a 22-5 win over the Bahamas.

In other day one pool games, Bahamas lost 17-12 to Trinidad after letting a 12-0 half-time lead slip away.
The remaining pool game saw the Bahamas defeat the Cayman Islands 27-0.
