The Lou Barrow Memorial Trophy is heading to San Fernando as Rainbow Sports and Cultural Club wrote their name into Trinidad and Tobago rugby history Sunday when they defeated newcomers University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) 22-14 in the final of the Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Football Union (TTRFU) National 7s Rugby Championships at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain.

The Train Line Marabella-based community outfit, enjoying a rich vein of form, lifted their third title in as many weeks, having previously won the Police 7s and their own Rainbow 7s tournaments.

In the semi-finals, the Southerners defeated defending champions Stag Trinidad Northern 22-5, while UTT whipped Carib RFC 33-7 in the other semi, to set up an intriguing battle for the national title.

Northern claimed third place, defeating arch-rivals Carib 19-14 in the playoff.

However, Rainbow, the defending Under-19 7s champions, lost their title when they were  defeated 22-12 by Harvard U-19s in the age grade final.

Royalians RFC retained their women's crown when they defeated newcomers Aranjuez Romans 2-1 in the round-robin encounter that saw the two teams play three games.
