Freeport rugby players start their season this Saturday, November 22nd, with an exciting game against Cuckoos of Nassau.

Cuckoos, who have already beaten Baillou this season, have high hopes for the upcoming season and with Freeport defending both the Bahamas Cup and Bahamas Championships the game will set the tone for the rest of the season.

Freeport, who have lost several established players, will include some new faces to the team and hope that the new players will prove an exciting addition. Freeport won both cups last year and know all the teams in Nassau will be after their crown!

Freeport’s No. 8 Jackelo Pierre hopes the team can carry on where they left off last year.

“Having won both cups last year we want to prove ourselves by defending both cups and making sure we make it as hard as possible for the Nassau teams," Jackelo continued. “We want to start our season off with a victory on our home pitch and show our supporters we are serious about defending the two cups.”

Included in the squad will be several young Bahamians who will be playing in their first Bahamas Cup games and will be the platform for the team in years to come.
