· Ospreys centre hauled over coals for 'rugby-related' incident
· Welsh club offered no further explanation of the decision

High-profile Ospreys centre Gavin Henson has been suspended for his side's forthcoming Heineken Cup matches against Leicester and Perpignan. Ospreys have termed the surprise action as "a rugby-related disciplinary decision".

The Welsh club have offered no further explanation for the decision, which comes just one week after Henson's return to action following an ankle injury.

Henson had made his first start in six months in the EDF Energy Cup victory over Harlequins, but will once again be forced to the sidelines following his latest disciplinary misdemeanour.

Henson's absence may well have bearing on his return to the autumn Test against South Africa on November 8. The 26-year-old will now have only two opportunities to prove his fitness to national coach Warren Gatland, assuming that he returns to the Ospreys line-up for the EDF ties with Worcester and London Irish at the turn of the month.

The decision also means that Ospreys will have to face Leicester in Sunday's Pool Three opener without their first-choice midfield pairing as Sonny Parker continues to struggle with a chest problem.
