The IRB World Rugby World Yearbook is back on the bookshelves, in association with Emirates Airline. The 2008 edition, which is the most comprehensive Rugby Yearbook on the planet, was launched at a special event at the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens.

The IRB World Rugby Yearbook returned to the shelves in 2007 to great acclaim after a three-year absence with a new look format and more detail than previous editions. The 2008 edition is even bigger and better.

“The 2008 edition is the biggest yet,” said Yearbook Editor Paul Morgan. “Increased from 570 to 640 pages, the 2008 edition retains the successful blend of statistical information, analysis and comment as well as detailed reviews of all the major Tournaments that took place during the Year.”
“The 2008 edition also features a comprehensive Rugby World Cup 2007 section, reviewing what was a memorable Tournament, and profiling each of the 20 participating teams ? all for the same great price as the 2007 edition,”

The Yearbook also contains detailed reviews of the 2006/07 IRB Sevens World Series, RBS Six Nations, Tri-Nations, Heineken Cup, Super 14, Top 14, Guinness Premiership, Currie Cup, IRB Pacific Nations Cup, IRB Nations Cup and IRB Under 19 World Championship to name but a few competitions as well as containing the complete international statistical records.

Former England Rugby legend and Rugby World Cup winner Will Greenwood, who penned the Yearbook’s Six Nations review, was on hand to sign copies of the book for Rugby fans attending the Dubai Sevens.

“The IRB World Rugby Yearbook is simply the most comprehensive Rugby annual around. Crammed full with every detail from what was a massive year of Rugby that culminated in a memorable Rugby World Cup in France. It is a must-have for both Rugby aficionados and the media alike,”

said Greenwood.

The IRB World Rugby Yearbook 2008 will be available from major bookstores in the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and parts of Europe. It can also be purchased through the publisher’s website www.visionsp.co.uk, where a special discount is available for members of the media.
