NAWIRA REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
NAWIRA is the IRB Regional Association for the development of Rugby in North America and the West Indies. Rugby is experiencing unprecedented growth around the world and interest has been further kindled by a very successful Rugby World Cup. NAWIRA will capitalise on this growth with the appointment of a Regional Development Officer – West Indies.
The role involves delivering game development programmes and
tournaments in NAWIRA’s West Indies Unions in accordance with NAWIRA’s and the IRB’s Strategic Plans. This will be achieved by assisting Unions with their operational plans and monitoring the outcomes. The successful applicant will also manage aspects of game development across the West Indies and assist individual Unions in their initiatives. Tournament planning and delivery is a requirement.
Follow up:
A key aspect of the role is managing training and education, including the deployment of Coach and Officials Educators as required by Unions.
The successful applicant will have a tertiary educational background and excellent planning skills with the ability to facilitate plans for others.
Experience in financial management and budgeting is required together with operational skills to deliver tournaments. The job holder will also have excellent training, consultancy and interpersonal skills to work in a culturally diverse environment.
