Guyana will kick off the defence of their NAWIRA [North America West Indies Rugby Association] Sevens title against the Turks & Caicos Islands on Saturday at the Winton Rugby Centre in Nassau, the Bahamas.


Twelve nations will contest the men’s title with Mexico and Barbados joining Guyana and the Turks & Caicos Islands in Pool A at the two-day tournament, which also features a women’s event.


Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, the host nation and Cayman form Pool B, while Bermuda, Martinique, St Vincent & The Grenadines and representative side USA Rugby South will battle it out in Pool C.


The NAWIRA Sevens also features a women's competition, which will be run on a round robin basis with Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, together with development teams from Canada and USA, playing each other twice to determine the champions.
