Ric Bourne of Vancouver is the new chairperson of Rugby Canada's board as the organization restructures with a new governance model. Bourne is a founding member, past president and current director of the UBC Old Boys Raven's RFC.

Bourne said his goal is "to secure a top 10 finish or better in the 2011 World Cup."

Canada failed to get out of the first round in the recently completed 2007 World Cup.

Three others from B.C. were added to the board -- David Robertson, current head master and coach at Shawnigan Lake School, lawyer Mark Slay of Vancouver, a past-president of the B.C. Rugby Union, and Stephanie White of Victoria, a former a Canadian women's team captain.
