Notice to Players from the National 7s Coach, Andrew Davies

This is a brief note to appraise you of what is happening vis a vis the Club Sevens and National Sevens training for the NAWIRA 7's Tournament being held in Nassau the weekend of November 17/18, 2007.

This Saturday is a round robin tournament format with the first and second placed clubs on the log playing each other for the Championship. If you have any aspirations of being considered for the National team you need to be playing at this tournament.
The tournament starts at 12.30 sharp so if you work late or go shopping with your mummy on Saturday you will need to make arrangements to ensure you are at Winton ON TIME.

Each club is expected to field a team, no excuses. I therefore highly recommend that all players proactively take part in co-ordinating your team rather than leave it to somebody else. You don't want to be at Winton with no club to play for with whom you can showcase your skills.

The National team selectors (myself, Stevie Thompson, Freeport representative) will be watching all the games and by the end will have selected a squad of 16-18 players to attend a National Sevens team training camp the weekend of November 10/11 in Nassau. This camp will involve fitness testing, skills testing and plenty of full contact sevens. At the end of this camp we will select a final squad of 12 players with 2 alternates for the tournament the following weekend.

Training in the week up to the tournament will be in Nassau during the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday where we will finalise strategy and key moves. EVERY player who makes the final squad needs to be at ALL of these training sessions so please make preperations in advance that you can attend.
