To our knowledge, this is the largest collection of free online rugby games available on the internet.
Enjoy.
This was our most popular page when it came out in April 2006 - so, not wishing to work too hard, I decided to update it and publish it again.
For some reason, rugby games tend to be fairly useless - in fact, you can save yourself some frustration by ignoring most of these and just going to the BBC England Academy game. But they're free, so you gets what you pays for, I suppose.
Section 1: Kicking Games

Smilie Games – 6 Nations Kicking
This is a very irritating game.
Be careful, some kickers are better than others (the English ones are the best).
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 2/5

Kick for a Ticket This the the Royal Bank of Scotland's Official 6 Nations Game, but don’t let the cute graphics & soothing music fool you – this one’s annoying as well.
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 1/5

Kicking Kings – Now you're cooking with deisel. When it comes to kicking, this BBC game is a monster. Takes a bit of practice, but pretty good quality. Its based on the 2003 RWC in Australia - with commentary by Bill McLaren. Use the arrow keys for height and direction (allowing for the wind), left mouse button for accuracy and power.

Mousebreaker Rugby Kicker – Another fairly tricky kicking game. Click on 'Shoot', then 'Accuracy' (which is also power). 10 levels, quite good, but gets boring quickly. There are better kicking games.
Bahamas Rugby gives it 2/5

Coin Rugby - sheesh! Someone's put a lot of time and effort into producing an online game that's MUCH more fun with a real coin.
Bahamas Rugby gives it 2/5

Lions 2005 Tour - The Big Game – From British Airways, based on the New Zealand tour. Looks like another kicking game and it might be factastic, but you have to register, so I didn’t bother

Eddie o'Sullivan's Kick – This game from Adidas the Daddy of all kicking games It’s difficult, but very good – wait, wait, wait (through the ads) don’t click anything, it takes a while to get to it, but its worth it.
Bahamas Rugby gives this one: 5/5

Miniclip Rugby Kicking – One of the better kicking games, but you’ve only got a couple of chances. (Oh yeah, and they call a penalty a ‘field goal’).
Bahamas Rugby gives it : 3/5
Section 2: Open Play Games

Clever Code Rugby – Yep, its a s bad as it looks, well nearly. 3-man team – slightly less annoying than fishing, worth about 5 minutes of your time.
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 2/5

Game of 3 Halves – Now that’s more like it – passing, side-stepping, hitting a sheep and getting tackled by a streaker, great. Quite hard to score, but worth playing a few times.
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 4/5

Flick ‘n’ Kick – Pretty decent game from Wales - I against 15. Read the instructions first though as the unusual playing system requires practice. A little bit short, however.
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 4/5

6 Nations 2006 – nice little time-waster, though a bit easy. I won the entire 6 nations in 3 minutes. They ask for an e-mail address to play, but just enter whatever@wherever.com
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 3/5

Betfair World Cup Game – Looks cack, but give it a chance. Read the instructions (right hand side) before you start. Quite tough to move the ball and the kicking is really awkward, but a bit of practice goes a long way with this one. Too many ads though and not much room for error.
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 4/5

The Big Hit – The only tackling game I’ve found, but at three against one, it’s a bit of a nightmare. Its produced by Australian Rugby League and the only really worthwhile aspect is they show a video of a bunch of great tackles when you lose -and you will lose.
Bahamas Rugby gives this: 2/5 (only cos of the video)
An Odd One

Rockport Rugby You have to catch the ball, run a certain distance, handing players off (quite therapeutic), then kick before you reach the try line. Hmm.
Bahamas Rugby Gives It: 3/5
6 Nations interactive Rugby Games - now these are definitely getting closer to the mark. 6 crappy little games for the price of 1. Actually, the final game, which is a combo of teh other 5 is quite good, when it works.
Bahamas Rugby Gives This: 3/5
Game 1 - Catch & Mark
Game 2 - Kick for Touch
Game 3 - Lineout
Game 4 - Scrum
Game 5 - Winger
Game 6 - The Final

England Academy - This BBC Sports game is by far the best free internet rugby game out there at the moment. It covers most aspects of the game and, though tricky at first, is well worth the effort.
Click on ‘Enrol in The Academy’ to start. You begin by gaining certification in various aspects of the game, then you can go on to play a full international season.
Bahamas Rugby gives this: 5/5
Bizarre 'Rugby' Game

Egg Chase Rugby – Well, for a start, this game's in a pub. You’ve got to pass 14 beers to your teammates. Ok for a novelty idea, but gets boring pretty quick.
Bahamas Rugby gives it: 3/5
Rugby Manager Games - require downloads/registration
Pro Rugby Manager –looks very professional but requires a download and I don’t have the time (1 hour on broadband) – If you’ve played this, let me know what it’s like
Fantasy Rugby – You’ve got to know your game to play this
World Rugby Manager – Not out yet, but it promises to be a corker
Rugby Mania – Like the others, you need to register to play, but its worth it – quite addictive
