Rugby Union: Women's Team Train Together

NASSAU, BAHAMAS (March 22, 2007) -- Last week the Vassar women played the local women's rugby team and such was the disparity in experience that the teams decided to combine for a scrimmage. The game was played in a great spirit and there can be no doubting that rugby was the winner. It also produced a first for the sport as Bahaman outside center Danelle Rolle burst through to score a try, the first for a Bahamian woman on this ground. The score line reflected the parity of the contest as the Grays defeated the Reds 10-5.

This has been a great training tour for the Vassar Women as the players have worked out each morning at 8:00 am and then again in the evenings at 6:00 pm. In between they have been able to go to the beautiful beaches, usually on Paradise Island, and soak away their aches and pains.
