We need more referees!

Sounds familiar?

Its something we hear every season and yet year after year, people walk away from the game and don't even consider becoming refs. Even more disheartening is when a young, enthusiastic player disappears from the scene because he isn't getting enough playing time.

Well how about becoming a referee/touch judge?

Ask Pete Muscroft - the travel opportunities are amazing. Take the coming months, for example, NAWIRA approached the Union with the following:

To all concerned:
You are invited to nominate appropriately experienced and talented match officials for consideration for appointment to this year's NAWIRA Tournaments that take place as follows:-
July 7 - 14, 2007. Under 19 RWC Qualifier at George Town, Cayman Islands.
August 18 - 25, 2007. Caribbean Men's & Women's 15s Championships at George Town, Cayman islands.
November 17 - 18, 2007. NAWIRA 7s at Nassau, Bahamas.
Nominees who have previous experience at such events should be included, along with any other match officials you believe worthy of consideration.
Match officials with 'development potential' may be nominated for consideration as Touch Judge candidates.

These are all expenses paid trips!

Not to mention the countless tournaments that need refs in the US and Canada.

Give it some thought and let Pete Muscroft know you're interested.
Not just Guys, Ladies as well.
