As many of you know, after the NAWIRA Sevens in Barbados, three Bahamian players were shortlisted (or rather longlisted) for the West Indies 7s squad:

It seems that Dan has already gone one step further and has been invited to play for the West Indies in Trinidad & Tobago in on December 2nd & 3rd (less than two weeks away). This is a tremendous achievement and one which we all applaude. If he does well in this one he will be selected for the Windies at the IRB Sevens in San Diego.


We are informed that his accommodation and expenses are covered for the duration of his stay in Trinidad, but it has been left up to him (us) to find the money to fly him from the UK for the tournament. He needs a total of $1,000 so between us it should be very easily accomplished. If you'd like to contribute any amount, please contact either me (Ely) or Andrew Davies and I'll come and collect your donation. Either that or you can look for one of us at Winton on Saturday.

Luctonians Update: Ironically, Dan wouldhave won his second cap for Luctonians first team, but was instead travelling to Barbados with the National team. As soon as I have more information, I'll let you know.
