Unlike the media commentary concerning the rough treatment of Wallaby George Smith's immaculate dreadlocks, those most directly concerned seem rather blasé.

The perpetrator of the Bledisloe 'unhair play,' All Blacks hardman Jerry Collins, has remained silent amongst the hot air. All Blacks coach Graham Henry says he didn't notice the incident. Forwards coach Steve Hansen quiped:
"If you are going to have long hair, people are going to be tempted to pull it. It happens in every game."

Smith's Brumbies coach Laurie Fisher, who also has an eye catching 'do‚' was incensed, saying:
"You shouldn't pull a bloke's hair. That was ordinary play."
Fortunately the victim put things in perspective.
"If (people) pulling your hair gets you up for a test match you're in the wrong sport,"
Smith said.
