Upon arrival in England, UK Customs held Dan as they were concerned he was being paid to play rugby which would mean a different visa altogether, nevertheless, they let him into the country after Dan gave them Huw Davies' cell phone and they spoke to him.

It was his birthday yesterday (Tuesday), so after his first training session with Luctonians RFC, they had some cakes waiting for him, organised by Mrs. Davies. He is registered with medicare and now has a bank account (his first). He is getting new boots next week.

He starts work at a construction company on Monday but until then he is helping the club prepare to host one leg of the UK Professional darts league which should be quite an event.

He is staying in the next village to the village the club is in with a very nice SINGLE lady and her 10-year old daughter and 17-year old son who plays rugby for the Colts. Hopefully he will get regular square meals with some good old British starch and should put on some weight.

Andy Davies spoke to Dan early this morning. He said the coach had taken him to the local pub after training for a pint to celebrate his birthday, Dan had a pint of Guinness. He couldn't believe how big the glass was or how sweet it tasted compared to the bottled tar we get over here. He is very impressed by the club's facilities but said it was cold even though it was apparently 25-degrees and a balmy summers day in England. He can't understand why there are no Jitneys and is thinking of starting a service going from village to village to help make ends meet.

His first training session went well, 28 of the first team squad were in attendance and they played some semi-opposed. The coach said he heard someone in the changing room after training say

"F*ck me, if their flankers are that fast, how fast are their wingers?"

Thanks to Andrew Davies for this contribution
